You've been told to avoid it at all costs. But--

This "forbidden" food could be the biggest health breakthrough of our time

Your whole life, you've been warned that this substance can wreck havoc on your health.

But the bad rap could be for nothing. Because research proves this shunned food:
plummets LDL cholesterol by 25% while raising HDL up to 29%--it's been proven in three separate studies to beat the most-prescribed prescription drugs
decreases tooth decay by 80%--without having to drop any of your favorite foods
reduces blood clots without the dangerous side effects of aspirin
cuts sinus and ear infections by 93%--you can actually feel it working in minutes. One pioneering Texas doctor says the results are so dramatic, his patients forget to keep using it!
And you should see what else it can do for your heart!

How can one food--especially one we're told to stay away from--do so much?

More importantly--what is it? And how can you get your hands on it?

Does the British healthcare system prove Obamacare works?

Dear Friend,

Which is hotter this summer: the weather or the national debate over healthcare? If you've been paying attention, the answer is obvious. Even the debate over the Iraq War has been mild compared to the fever-pitch dialogue over President Obama's healthcare proposals.

As the debate continues, those on both sides of the argument point to examples of government-run plans, most notably the Canadian healthcare system and Britain's National Health Service (NHS). The Democrats claim that the NHS is a shining example of a "single-payer" health plan that provides total health care to all citizens. But Republicans claim that NHS is a bureaucratic horror show that will cost Americans both money and lives.

So who's right?

When I look at the NHS, I see a flawed system that doesn't have the same high standards of care as we have in the U.S. The Democrats like to camouflage a lot of the details about the NHS system to make it seem better than it really is -- but as we all know, the devil is in the details.

Democrats like to tout that under the NHS, Britain suffers from fewer deaths as a result of surgical or medical mishaps. This may be true, but it's a number-based "fact" that has been twisted to make it sound better than it is. Because the NHS rations healthcare and even getting a needed surgery could require a months-long wait time, there are fewer surgical procedures performed -- so of course, statistically, there are fewer surgical deaths.

Democrats have widely mocked Sarah Palin's claim that under Obamacare, they would be subjected to "Death Panels" which would decided whether they lived or died. While I think Palin's hyperbole helped make this concept laughable, the truth of the matter is that there would indeed be a federal agency that would determine whether or not a person would receive critical care.

The NHS has them. It's not called a "Death Panel," the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (with the ironic acronym of "NICE") is in charge of determining which new treatments and drugs the NHS will pay for. If your cancer treatment is not approved by NICE, you will probably die. A "Death Panel" by any other name is still a Death Panel.

Are NICE's decisions based on medical practice? Nope. They're based on the bottom line. NICE has a "cost-per-life-saved" cash threshold of about $45,000 per life year gained (i.e., NICE will not spend more than $45K to extend life by one year).

This threshold wasn't determined by doctors -- it borrowed from the "cost-per-life- saved" standards of Britain's Department of Transportation.

Scared yet? It gets worse.

Let's go back to cancer. The NHS that's so-loved by the Democrats has a higher rate of cancer deaths than the U.S. TIME Magazine says that cancer is "the one area in which British patients probably receive inferior treatment to Americans."

That's a pretty substantial area, don't you think?

The Democrats claim that the goal of health reform is not to ration care. But at the same time, they claim the goal is to cut costs. If you look at the NHS, you see that limiting access to doctors is at the very core of the system.

In Britain, people must wait an average of two months for any treatment that requires hospital admission, one month for out-patient procedures, and two weeks for standard tests.

In other words: get in line and hope for the best. The bottom line is that if you want your healthcare experience to be the same as a visit to the DMV or the post office, Obama's American-ized NHS will be right up your alley.

Town considers imposing curfew on all its citizens

Remember what I've told you about the government telling you it's doing something "for the public good." It's never a good idea.

Now there's a city in New Jersey that's considering putting a curfew in effect for ALL of its citizens.

And you thought Obama was big on government control.

In an attempt to put an end to a violent crime spree, the officials of Paterson, New Jersey are proposing a two-month long, midnight to 7 am curfew, banning people of all ages from loitering outside. Police-enforced curfews are usually put in place for minors under the age of 18 – this would be the first curfew in the nation imposed on adults.

The curfew still has some hoops to jump through at the municipal level before it's put in place -- but the precedent terrifies me. Think about it: rather than going after criminals, this curfew would deem the entire city of Paterson guilty for seven hours of each day.

In an age when big government seems to grow bigger each day, you can be sure that if such a curfew is enacted in one town, more are sure to follow suit.

Socializing about the ills of socialized medicine,

William Campbell Douglass II, M.D.

Kickstart your body's natural energy production and end the "2 o'clock slump" for good!

Coffee might give you a little boost to get you through your day, but it can leave you jittery and nervous -- and it's only a temporary fix. So it's back to the mug the next day, and the day after that.

It's time to break that slump cycle for good by helping fire up your body's neurotransmitters -- the "messengers" of the brain. Kick them into gear and they'll start churning out a permanent supply of energy.

How's it done? Well, it takes the perfect combination of nutrients -- proven by the military and endurance athletes -- to stimulate your brain's most important energy-makers when under stress...
